Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

BuildIT (“BuildIT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile-first construction and real estate project management application, operated as a sole proprietorship by Genaro Martinez in the State of Washington, USA. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (buildit.website), our iOS application, and our related services (together, the “Service”).

BuildIT is currently in private beta. Features and data practices may change as the product evolves; we will update this policy when they do.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the Service:

Information you provide to us:

• Waitlist email. When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and the page you signed up from.
• Account information. If you create an account in the app, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (managed by our authentication provider).
• Project content. Information you add about your projects — project names, phases, tasks, budgets, notes, and daily logs.
• Photos and images. Job-site photos and any images you upload to the AI Designer feature.
• Communications. Messages you send us, such as support emails.

Information collected automatically:

• Usage and telemetry data. Basic technical and interaction data — such as device type, operating system, app version, and feature-usage events — collected as aggregated telemetry. This data is stripped of personally identifiable information and keyed only to anonymized identifiers (such as hashed IDs), so it is not used to identify you individually.
• Website analytics (with your consent). If you accept analytics via the consent banner on our website, we use Vercel Analytics to collect aggregated page-view and performance data (such as pages visited, referrer, country, device and browser type). This data is anonymized, is not used to identify you individually, and does not involve cross-site tracking. If you decline, no analytics are loaded at all.
• Local storage. Our website stores small preferences in your browser: your light/dark theme choice and your analytics consent choice. Neither is used for tracking or advertising.

We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features;
• Create and secure your account and authenticate you;
• Generate AI interior-design concepts you request;
• Respond to your inquiries and provide support;
• Analyze aggregated, de-identified telemetry to improve product quality, understand usage trends, and inform future products — never to identify you individually;
• Send you service and beta-related communications (and, if you joined the waitlist, notify you when access opens — you can unsubscribe at any time);
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse; and
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. AI features and third-party processing

The AI Designer is a core feature of BuildIT. When you use it, the photo or description you submit is sent to third-party AI providers that generate the design concept and return it to us. These providers process your image to perform the request.

We share only what is needed to fulfill your request. We do not send your name, email, or other account details along with the image. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in photos or prompts you submit. AI providers process this content under their own terms and privacy policies.

AI-generated results are concepts for visualization only — they are not architectural, engineering, or construction documents.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only as needed. These include providers for:

• Cloud hosting and databases;
• Authentication and account security;
• Website hosting and delivery; and
• AI image processing for the AI Designer feature.

We can provide a list of the specific providers we use on request — just email us at hello@builditapp.co.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), in which case we will notify you.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You can request deletion at any time (see “Your rights”).

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, authentication via signing keys, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to promptly address any issues.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:

• Access or update your account information within the app;
• Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message or by contacting us;
• Change your website analytics choice at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer;
• Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing hello@builditapp.co.

We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

9. Children’s privacy

BuildIT is intended for professional use by adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users and data transfers

We operate from the State of Washington, USA, and our service providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own. We take steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
